indentIn keeping with Dr. Maria Montessori's vision of a farm high school, the erde kinder (children of the land), Amb. Preciosa S. Soliven signed a memorandum of agreement with the famous Thai agricultural university, the Kasetsart, in 1998. The agreement aims to foster academic exchange and cooperation in agriculture and education between O.B. Montessori and the Kasetsart University. Alfonso Farm is patterned after His Majesty the King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej's "self-sufficiency farm" to be a model to surrounding farms and to develop economic independence amongst the high school students.

indentSince 2002 Alfonso Farm and Campsite opened its gates to schools and various groups for field trips on farm and garden orientations, camping and bivouac activities, corporate outings and team buildings, spiritual retreats and recollection.

indentTwo parcels of land, 5 hectares of Camp Akela and 6.5 hectares, Camp Baden Powell, are located at the border of Cavite in the Tagaytay area, Barangay Sulsugin, Alfonso. Farm and garden structures include the farmhouse, aviary, duck pen, fish ponds, experimental greenhouse, nursery of ornamental plants, orchidarium, vegetable patches, bio-liquid production and compost bed.

Interactive sessions and guided hikes, crop production, gardening, environmental care with compost and bio-liquid fertilizer making can also be requested. A store can be set-up for snacks, cold and hot drinks, native desserts and personal necessities, potted plants, fresh fruits and vegetables you may harvest yourself if desired.
