The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through its partnership with Operation Brotherhood, marked a historic milestone with the inauguration of the first-ever radio repeater in Luzon last October 26, 2021. Gracing the event were PCG District NCR-Central Luzon Commander, CG Commodore Hostillo Arturo E. Cornelio and Auxiliary Commodore Sara Soliven-De Guzman of Operation Brotherhood.

Situated in a 100-square-meter lot at the Preziosa Botanic Resort in Alfonso, Cavite, the installation of the radio center stands as proof of O.B. Montessori Center’s role in its continuous efforts of inspiring the youth to love their country through the Operation Brotherhood projects.

This cross-band base radio repeater center supports the enhancement program of the Coast Guard by widening the range of radio coverage all over Manila Bay and adjacent regions. According to CG Commodore Cornelio, this expansion helps the PCG District NCR-Central Luzon in conducting maritime law enforcement operations and search and rescue (SAR) missions within its areas of responsibility. It gives seafarers, fisherfolk, and communities a faster and more reliable means of communication in case of emergency and distress, thus giving the Coast Guard and other government agencies a quicker response time.
